How Settlement Load Profiles Are
Developed
Settlement load profiles
are generated each day and provide estimates of the
previous day's hourly usage. Settlement load profiles
are developed through the use of defined and publicly
disclosed algorithms. A separate algorithm
is developed for each season and for each of the non-residential classes that do not require interval metering
and the residential customer classes. Independent variables within the
algorithms include factors such as weather conditions
and day-of-the-week. These variables can be
forecasted by a RES and are objectively determinable
after the fact.
The profile developed
for the classes with a peak demand of 400 kilowatts
or less represents the average per customer electricity
usage for each hour of the previous day. The
profile developed for the unmetered classes are
provided on a one-watt basis.
